Never forget the lessons we learned:

Alabama's Civil Rights Experience

April 28, 2022 - May 1, 2022

Visit Montgomery & Selma on this historic CSL tour

In alignment with our principle of Love in Action, GHSC sponsors tours that assist us in healing—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Realizing that some of that healing has to do with our cultural difficulties, our tour to Alabama, the first of several healing tours, begins with expanding our awareness and learning about our national history. The trip is for Ministers, Practitioners, and all people who are students committed to a world that works for everyone.

The Legacy Museum: From Enslavement to Mass Incarceration is situated on a site in Montgomery where Black people were forced to labor in bondage. Blocks from one of the most prominent slave auction spaces in America, the Legacy Museum is steps away from the rail station where tens of thousands of Black people were trafficked during the 19th century.

The National Memorial for Peace and Justice is the nation’s first memorial dedicated to the legacy of enslaved Black people, people terrorized by lynching, African Americans humiliated by racial segregation and Jim Crow, and people of color burdened with contemporary presumptions of guilt and police violence.
